You brought me coffee in the morning and wished me a merry Christmas. You helped me dress and forgave me for not shaving. You served me pancakes and gave me reassuring patience as I chased them around my plate. You helped me open my presents and kissed me under the mistletoe. You popped my painkillers from their packet and reminded me to wiggle my fingers. You cooked a beautiful dinner and allowed me to keep my pride by asking for the champagne to be opened. You kept me warm both inside and out and you sacrificed your time off for me. You let me wear your Santa hat and covered me with your jumper. You adjusted my sling and made sure I was comfortable, you did the dishes and held my hand.
You let me love you and you return with love of your own. I am a very lucky man.
