Freedom Of The Seas?

Freedom Of The Seas
Can someone please explain this to me…

There is a rather large cruise liner and it occasionally docks in the port near to where I live. And although she isn’t the longest, nor the widest or the tallest, she is certainly the heaviest. At 160,000 tons, she out-weighs The Queen Mary II by 8600 tons – the phrase, “Does my bum look big in this” comes to mind…

…Anyway, this monster of a vessel – which is a very impressive feat of engineering – is called Freedom Of The Seas. Now, when I think of Freedom In The Seas, I think of swimming in the ocean. Diving off a boat. Catching a wave when no one else is around to see it.

And when I think of Freedom Of The Seas, I think of people finally realising the importance of the oceans, and the ceasing of pollutants being pumped into our waters.

But when I think of Freedom Of The Seas Cruise Liner, I can only think of being stuck on a boat somewhere in the middle of the ocean without being able to leave it until it docks. That isn’t freedom, that is surely the opposite – prison?
